West Downs NHW has now joined the Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network, the only official national organisation covering England and Wales recognised by the Home Office and the Association for Chief Police Officers (ACPO) for Neighbourhood and Home Watch.

The new website www.ourwatch.org.uk was recently launched by the Rt Hon Baroness Browning, Minister of State for Security and contains many unique features including: the opportunity to register your scheme to help raise the profile of your scheme and attract new members; access our branded resource centre with free downloadable campaign posters for registered co-ordinators; free downloadable toolkits regarding a variety of topics including fundraising and working with young people; view crime mapping statistics and tools to post local news and events to your scheme and the wider community on the website.

The Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network continue to develop many exciting new partnerships with the support of colleagues in the Home Office, Department for Communities & Local Government, the Association of Chief Police Officers and the Local Government Association.  In these unprecedented times of austerity this wider support and sustainable partnerships allows us to provide essential support and services for all members.  This includes Public Liability Insurance, free window stickers, free training opportunities, funding opportunity updates, and other events or campaigns which you may wish to be involved in e.g. Operation Liberal regarding Distraction Burglary.
