Last year, we held at Fun Day in Tarring Park, and it was hugely popular, with vast numbers attending. Judging by the feedback from that event, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, made all the better by continual sunshine and loads of fun events, including a very popular Dog Show.
This year, we’re taking on a different theme for the day – a Picnic in the Park, which again everyone can join in. bring your own picnic and blanket (no barbecues please!) and enjoy the various events that will be taking place from 10.00 a.m. until 3.00 p.m. This year, although there won’t be a Dog Show (don’t worry, there’ll still be one in Steyne Gardens as part of the Seafront Fair on 30th July!), there will still be plenty going on. Just some of the attractions will be footie sessions in the MUGA with Brighton & Hove Albion’s community trainer, Mark Slide, Street 20 Cricket with Sussex County Cricket Club – a fast-moving game which is growing in popularity. There’s also Circus skills, kite surfing by ‘the man who jumped over the Pier’, bowling sessions, dancing demos by The Panthers, face-painting, story-telling and Jo Jingles.
So, if the kids are already bored by the beginning of August and need entertaining, what better place than their local park which also boasts plenty of new play equipment, including a zip-wire!
